Our Basic Clarinet Refresh is designed for instruments that play, but not comfortably. This service focuses on the most obvious problems so your clarinet seals better, responds more easily, and makes rehearsals less frustrating without the cost of a full overhaul.
Professional service includes:
Visual inspection and play‑test with a simple written summary of issues.
Light external cleaning of body and keys (no full disassembly).
Replacement of up to 4 worn or leaking pads with quality Lucien‑style white pads matched to your horn.
Spot replacement of noisy or missing key corks/felts where they affect feel or silence.
Targeted spring and key‑height adjustments to even out response in problem areas.
Light lubrication of noisy or dry keywork.
Optional Upgrades (not included in Basic price)
These extras can be added after we inspect your clarinet and confirm what it needs:
- Additional pad replacements – 15 dollars per pad
- For horns that need more than the 4 pads included in the Basic Refresh. Each extra leaking pad replaced with quality Lucien‑style pads, including installation and regulation.
- Full tenon cork replacement (all joints) – 70 dollars
- All joint corks replaced and carefully fit so the clarinet assembles smoothly and seals better. Priced low compared with typical 30–35 dollars per tenon rates at larger shops.
- Premium leather or synthetic pad set (selected keys) – from 35 dollars
- Upgrade key problem spots to leather or synthetic pads for extra durability or a different feel. Exact price depends on how many keys are upgraded.
- Custom pad colors (black/red/grey) – 45 dollars
- Cosmetic upgrade using colored pads on visible keys for a personalized look, including the extra setup time they require.
- Deep cosmetic cleaning & key polishing – 40 dollars
- Beyond the light cleaning included with Basic; more extensive body cleaning and key dressing to improve appearance.
- Additional follow‑up adjustment visit – 35 dollars
- Extra adjustment visit beyond the included check, helpful if the instrument is played heavily right after service.
When we inspect your clarinet, we’ll always recommend the most cost‑effective option. If an instrument coming in for the Basic Refresh truly needs multiple upgrades (like full tenon corks, premium pads, cosmetic work, and tone‑hole attention), it’s usually cheaper and smarter to move up to one of our higher overhaul levels instead of stacking many add‑ons onto the Basic service.
