Minor Clarinet Pad Service – Independent Keys Only is for a single worn or leaking pad on a key that works by itself and does not operate a linkage. Common examples include the register key, throat A, throat Aâ™/G♯, and selected independent trill keys.
This service includes:
– Replacement of one pad on an independent key.
– Pad seating and leak correction for that key.
– Basic regulation of that key and the nearby area.
– A focused leak check to confirm the repair is holding.
This is not for linked lower-joint systems. The crow’s-foot cluster, right-hand ring keys, G♯/E♠linkage, bridge-driven pads, and other mechanically connected lower-joint pads usually cannot be repaired properly as a simple one-pad job. If the problem is in one of those systems, the repair will be upgraded to Lower Joint Repad – Pads & Linked Key Regulation or Standard Repad & Mini Overhaul, depending on the condition of the instrument.
Price note: $35 covers the service labor for one independent key. The pad/material cost is additional.
